BIO

Besides being the founder and organizer of Co.Lab, Lee Allen is a versatile multi-instrumentalist whose music is inspired by an eclectic background. A grown-up “theatre kid” writing songs with rhythms that pull from soul and funk, and melodies that evoke pop, rock and jazz impressions. He has performed his original music across the country, from San Diego to Cape May, having been featured in conventions, festivals, and songwriter showcases.

His set list spans a variety of genres and generations – popular music from the 1950s to the current day – playing jazz, r&b, soul, classic rock, alternative, hip-hop and pop. He has a strong and soulful singing voice, and often utilizes looping to create layers with beat-boxing, guitar rhythms, and vocal harmonies to songs. He leaves an impression with is musical variety and style anywhere he goes.

Lee recently has been featured in a Voyage Baltimore Magazine Interview as well as a mini-documentary by PBS for his work as a musician as well as the founder and organizer of Collaboration Laboratory (Co.Lab) – a program designed to connect artists with their local community.
